We got married on 10th June in Guildford and had a brilliant reception at The Inn on the Lake in Godalming. We had a hog roast, bunting, bands playing, jars with flowers, the best wedding cake I have ever seen (by Debbie Harwood), and a great bit of sunshine in between days of downpours. I will be back in the worshop on 4th July after New Designers. Come say hello if you are free!!

Josie came to the church to see us get married. She was really well behaved and it was great to have her with us, afterall she is part of the family! She then went home for the evening to be with her dog pal Maddie so we didnt have to fear about her stealing and hog!!

It was presented by Stephen Webster and he did a great job. The work was all amazing and of such a high quality!

I came away with a commendation for my Dandelion necklace. I am so pleased, the comtetition is high and to be recognized in the mass off applications is a great honour. I will frame my certificate and put it on my wall!

Its been a great month winning the award and also getting into Platform Gallery in London, lots of hard work ahead getting my stock ready to go! I am also in New Ashgate gallery next month also, I love the gallery so it will be fantastic to actually be in there.

The new year is starting well so far, great news this morning, I will post updates as soon as i know more. We have big plans in 2011. The website will expand in 2011 with videos, more pictures and sections. The collections will be refined, and I hope to be doing craft shows towards the end of the year. There will also be several more one off pieces- they seem to go very well!

I am also getting married in June, very excited!!! and return from our honeymoon in Canada to be at New Designers in London in July.

So I hope 2011 will be a great launch year for me after a very long struggle to get to do a career that i have a strong passion for. Lots of hard work ahead, just like last year, but I love what I do no matter how early in the morning I start, or how long into the night I work- I have even practically given up Home and Away- CRAZY!!

Thanks for your support, happy 2011 :)

I almost got blown away on my walk yesterday! I also hate the rain, but I get to snuggle up in my bed in the workshop by the radiator!

My boyfriend Jake came round yesterday so the workshop was very full, he wanted lots of cuddles and knocked the first pieces of Kirsten's new necklace off the table. She wasn't cross though as they were fine. She has been very busy this week planning her new designs, I havent had that many cuddles this week, but its ok, it means I get to sleep without being disturbed- these humans are so needy with their cuddles! As long as I get my dinner and walks, Im not complaining!

Another day in the workshop, Kirsten is doming today so I think I might go and hang out with Jon while he does his marketing work. In his office I get to sleep on a sofa!

Time to catch some z's

Josie xxx- check out my sofa below, I am just arranging my pillows so I am comfy!

Kirsten was busy making models for her new project, she was making lots of noise hammering while I was trying to sleep. We then had an episode of Don't Tell the Bride on in the background while she was designing. It was a good episode, but I had to sleep to get on with, so I only managed half the episode.

We then went on a long walk from Guildford to Godalming along the river. Its getting dark early now, so we have to go in the afternoon. It was really fun, I saw a few other dog friends, though there were some really mean small dogs that tried to eat me. Scary!

I then caught the train home after visiting Kirsten's friend Bev at the Little Lamp Shop in Church Street Godalming. It was a really nice shop, very cosy, I tried to catch up on my sleep, but our train was due.

Im now back home after my bowl of pedigree chum. Kirsten is busy working on her designs. Time for me to sleep!

Been making lots of new pieces, and also the regulars! Christmas stock is being prepared for the Christmas shows and I've also been very busy working on a bold and unique Dandelion collection. So far I am working at design level, however after working with several models, I think I am almost ready to make the necklace of the collection. I start by researching ideas at crafts shows, trade shows, and artist websites. I then begin to prepare some rough designs from business cards and post cards I have collected. If it all seems to make some sense I then make models if I need to work out how something might come together in 3D.

It is a lengthy process, but the results are rewarding and it is interesting developing new designs. I'll be updating Facebook and the blog with progress very shortly- Keep an eye out!

All money raised by the event is going directly to The Brompton Fountain, a charity that helps families with children who are treated under the Royal Brompton and Harefield Trust for serious/life threatening heart and/or lung conditions. I have been working on my own designs, but also been working alongside other designers in their workshops. I have woked with Hannah Bedford and Elizabeth Bone, both established makers in the industry. Hannah recently exhibited at IJL. I have also began assisting at The West End centre in Aldershot on an evening course teaching silver and metal work skills. The group is lovely and already learning very quickly! I am assisting tutor Amy Hubbard, she is an excellent tutor who is a trained jeweller.

Over the next few months I will be developing a new collection, I am currently looking at Dandelion seeds, I am really fascinated by their beautiful form. I will update you with my progress. At the moment I am in the designing stage and hope to do some test pieces within the next week or two, to see how my ideas work in 3D.

Josie the workshop dog is doing well, snuggling up asleep ready to help me with a hard days work ahead! She will wake up promptly at 4, for her afternoon walk, followed by dinner, then its sleep time again!
