KIRSTEN HENDRICH- JEWELLERY DESIGNER/MAKER

Kirsten Hendrich is a designer maker based in Guildford, Surrey. Her work is handcrafted using  techniques such as lost wax casting, doming, fusing, and granulating.

Kirsten studied at the University for the Creative Arts, London Metropolitan, and completed several short courses at Central Saint Martins; but it was her work experience placements with Donna Collinson, Beth Gilmour, Fire and Iron Gallery and Hannah Bedford, to name a few which provided her with a true understanding of professional practice, and taught her technical and business knowledge.

A key theme is Kirsten’s work is texture, and nature. She develops collections in her Guildford based workshop drawing upon forms she discovers on dog walks and on her daily travels which inspire her such as seedpods and lichen. Kirsten is often out with Josie (the workshop dog- found sleeping under the workbench most days) collecting things which inspire her, and using the time away from a busy workshop to process new ideas and designs.

She then translates these ideas into wearable unique pieces of jewellery through experimentation at her workbench. As each piece is handmade by Kirsten, they are completely unique and lovingly handcrafted.

Kirsten’s collections have featured at the Apple Gallery in Godalming and were also an installation at Villa and Hut, Godalming from 2008-2009. Her current exhibitions and stockists can be see here.

Her work is currently available to buy from her online shop and a collaborative collection with Donna Collinson is currently exhibited at top craft shows such as Desire.

DONNA COLLINSON- JEWELLERY DESIGNER/MAKER

Since graduating in 1994 Donna has created innovative solid silver       jewellery utilising the lost wax casting technique.

Inspired by the flotsam and jetsam of the beach, pebble-like pieces are primitive, organic and tactile.

Donna's jewellery is rich in surface texture, with details of gold, semi-precious stones, goldplate, and oxidation providing striking contrasts.
